Two new access models signal Palfinger's expansion drive
Palfinger Platforms has launched two new models as part of its drive for expansion in the aerial platform market.
Industrial gains push HERC revenues up 13%
Hertz Equipment Rental Co (HERC) reported its fourth consecutive quarter of double digit growth with revenues for the final three months of 2011 up 11.1% to US$317.9 million. Pre-tax profits rose 77% to $62.1 million.
Socage turnover up 21%
Italian manufacturer Socage Srl reported a turnover of €34.5 million in 2011 - an increase of 21% on 2010.
2011 record year for Ruthmann
German truck mount specialist Ruthmann has announced that 2011 saw the highest value sales in the company's history. Approximately 500 units were delivered worth €75.7million, that is a sales increase of nearly 30% from 2010.
Ramirent 2011 revenues up 22.3% but outlook uncertain
Ramirent continued to its growth trajectory in the final quarter of 2011 with sales up 24.4% to €186.8 million and net operating profits more than doubling to €25.5 million. Sales for the full year rose by 22.3% to €649.9 million and operating profits increased by 149.3% to €74.1 million.
Aerials lead Terex return to profit
Terex Aerial Work Platforms saw the biggest increase in revenues of all the Terex divisions in 2011 posting a 63% increase to US$1.75 billion, with operating profits of $60.4 million compared to just $2.8 billion in 2010.
Global sales growth increases 23% for Haulotte in 2011
Haulotte has announced a 23% increase in revenue for 2011 with growth in all geographic areas.
Cramo expects moderate growth in 2012
Cramo said the economic uncertainty in Europe had not yet impacted on its business and that rental continued to be a growth industry, with outsourcing becoming an attractive option during uncertain times.
Tanfield's order book keeps growing
Tanfield Group Plc, owner of Snorkel, said that trading for the second half of 2011 was similar to that of the first half. The company's order book continued to grow as order intake significantly outstripped monthly shipment revenues. Net cash at 31 December 2011 was £3.4 million (31 December 2010: £3.6m).
Manitou sales up 35% with another 15% expected for 2012
Manitou has announced that its turnover figures for 2011 are 35% higher than 2010 (to €1.1billion) and expects a further 10 to 15% rise in 2012. Final quarter figures were 27% higher than the same period in 2010.
Palfinger results say access improving and export vital
Palfinger's revenue increased 30% in 2011 and profit (EBIT) was up 83%. Although no figures are broken out specifically for the Palfinger Platforms division, the company said that "improvements in the product division Access Platforms had a positive effect."
RSC predicts "strong 2012" after 23% increase in 2011
RSC Equipment Rental said it was expecting a “strong 2012” after releasing positive results for the fourth quarter of 2011, with rental revenues up 27% to US$364 million and total revenues increasing 24% to $421 million. Full year revenues rose 23.3% to $1522 million.
United Rentals finishes 2011 with strong quarter
United Rentals finished 2011 with another strong quarter, reporting total revenues up 25% to US$746 million and net profits of $29 million, reversing the $17 million loss in the same quarter of 2010.
Lavendon revenue up 8%
Lavendon Group said a combination of volume and price increases in the UK and continental Europe had driven its 8% revenue growth for the year to 31 December, with France and Belgium in particular benefitting from extra fleet redeployed from its closed Spanish operation.
Ahern Rentals files Chapter 11
One of North America's largest independent rental companies, Las Vegas-based Ahern Rentals, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in order to restructure around $500 million in debt.
Profits up 83% at Ashtead driven by Sunbelt performance
Ashtead Group’s operating profits jumped by 83% to £63.4 million for the three months to 31 October driven by an almost doubling of profits at Sunbelt Rentals in the US.
Ashtead profits increase 197%
The Ashtead Group has recorded a half year profit of £84 million; up 197% over the same period in 2010 and profit for the second quarter up 186% to £50.6 million with a large contribution from the improving fortunes of the US Sunbelt operation.

Lavendon's rental revenue keeps growing
International rental company, the Lavendon Group plc, announced year-on-year growth of 8% for the nine month period to the 30 September compared to 2010 - growth in the third quarter was 7% compared to last year.
Speedy moves back to profit
In an interim report for the six month ending 30 September 2011 Speedy Hire reported a return to profit of £4.8 million compared to a loss £9.9 million for the same period in 2010.
