IPAF Certified as ISO-Compliant

11 August 2010

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has again passed its audit review of ISO 18878:2004 Mobile elevating work platforms - Operator training and also now meets the 2008 version of the ISO 9001 standard, which relates to good quality management practices.

Both audits were held in IPAF's new head offices at Moss End in Cumbria, UK.

"IPAF are an extremely well organized outfit and a large part of their business involves auditing of member training centers and organizations, thus they are on top of auditing principles and methods," said auditor David Willcocks from ISOQAR in his report. "They have an excellent QMS and it is thoroughly appraised via internal audits by their own staff. This auditor can thus not offer any further improvement suggestions here."

The ISO 9001:2008 audit highlighted IPAF's "maintenance and development of the operations manual and training content in accordance with changes in requirements and the feedback of interested parties; maintenance and consistency of IPAF training activities; administration and implementation of the IPAF licensed activities onsite" and
"training course content and controls."

IPAF fulfilled all requirements of the standard and no non-conformities were found, it reported. The audit was performed by TÜV Rheinland.
