Acces Industrie adds hybrid booms in sustainability push

By Dan Colombini08 October 2021

Acces Industrie has added 20 Genie Z-45 hybrid models to its fleet.

French rental company Acces Industrie has boosted its fleet with the acquisition of 20 new Genie Z-45 FE articulating boom lifts.

Designed using the same hybrid technology as its Genie Z-60 FE sister model, the Genie Z-45 FE boom lift offers a maximum working height of 15.9m (51 ft 8 in), a horizontal outreach of 6.9m (22 ft 9 in) and an up-and-over reach of 7.5m (24 ft 7 in).

It is also equipped with a 300kg (660 lb) capacity platform in the 16m (52 ft) hybrid boom lift class.

Due to its low emissions, energy-saving and low maintenance 4WD operation, the machine can increase the possibility of high rental returns on invested capital, according to Acces.

Access Industrie’s sustainability push
According to Emilie Robert, marketing and sales director at Acces Industrie, this investment underscores the company’s move towards meeting requirements for sustainability within the aerial market.

The move takes Acces’ collection of Genie hybrid models to 54 units, for which the firm has also carried out a full training programme dedicated to utilising the equipment and understanding the potential benefits.

Using these hybrid machines offers the opportunity to be present on construction sites where green energy is the only option; for example, large-scale projects such as the Greater Paris project, the firm said.

It also allows the potential to reduce operating costs. For most of these models, a full tank of fuel is enough to oversee a week’s work in hybrid mode, and the battery’s autonomy allows for a full day’s work in electric model.
