Alimak high-speed hoist upgrade

Alimak has launched its latest high-speed construction hoist.The Scando 650 FC-S 35/50 was launched at ConExpo, in the US last month. The new upgraded hoist has increased payload on previous models, a larger car size and enhanced communication capabilities.

One of the features shown for the first time at the trade show is an extra wide door. It has been developed to further improve logistics and productivity for construction companies and rental fleet owners.

A new large vertical sliding door can be mounted on the hoist car’s long side (c-side) to improve productivity furthermore. The new door has an opening width of 4.2m and an opening height of 2.5m, increasing its size by 60%, compared to Alimak’s previously largest door. The increased door size and rigid threshold allows for larger and heavier loads.

The new configuration enables easy unloading directly from the truck into the hoist car using a forklift, requiring less storage area at ground level which is a major benefit on confined sites, said the company. The hoist thereby leaves the tower crane free to do other jobs.

A new wireless call system AliCall was also displayed at ConExpo. It offers wireless communication between hoist car and landings and improves the usability as the operator can view the designated landings directly on the screen. AliCall supports up to 128 landings and has automatic call clearing at landing. It is designed to lower the installation cost through shorter installation time and less hard wiring.
