French company creates single demolition brand

France-based company Eiffage – through its Eiffage Génie Civil – has combined the group’s deconstruction and waste activities into a single brand, known as Demcy.

The newly branded business, which joins together Perez & Morelli, Boutté, and Chastagner, will handle demolition, recycling, dredging, asbestos and lead removal and dismantling. It has 270 employees and seven agencies spread across France.

Demcy The companies forming the Demcy brand worked on nearly 150 deconstruction projects last year

In 2020, these teams worked on almost 150 deconstruction sites, with selective removal and on-site waste sorting on these projects enabling the recovery, reuse or recycling of 500,000 t of materials and equipment.

Demcy is committed to the Eiffage Group’s policy of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through redevelopment projects of cities and territories, offering materials and equipment reuse solutions to enable major resource savings and contribute to the circular economy.

Current deconstruction projects include the Ford plant at Blanquefort in south west France, the former “Française de Mécanique” workshops in Douvrin near Lille, Mounier high school in Grenoble, and the Allée des Dômes apartment block in Clermont-Ferrand.

The company will also be starting work soon on Baumettes prison in Marseille.
