Hire Association Europe (HAE) has announced that it is to showcase its HireTrain programme at this year’s Executive Hire Show (EHS) in the UK, which will take place at the CBS Arena in Coventry from the 9 to 10 February, 2022.

HireTrain is a training group for hire industry professionals that aim “raise standards by developing and facilitating quality training” for rental industry staff.

Paul Gaze, HAE EHA Chief Executive Officer, said, “Our training programmes like HireTrain cover everything from equipment usage through to health and safety and other key business skills.

HireTrain is being supported by ConstructionSkills and offers “cost-effective programmes” designed to help HAE members reduce staff turnover, improve safety and increase business profitability and turnover.

Gaze said, “Working with key partners we are able to offer apprenticeships, management and leadership programmes.

“Through HAE’s accredited providers we can also offer NEBOSH, IOSH and Driver CPC, offering something of relevance to companies of all sizes.”

HAE’s stand (C32) at the EHS will also feature the SafeHire Certification Scheme, which “proves a firm’s competence in upholding high standards in health, safety, environment and quality of equipment as well as a well-trained workforce”.

According to the HAE, the certification means that customers looking to hire tools, equipment and plant (including for event hire) can see which rental companies adhere to high health, safety, environmental and equipment quality and staff training standards.

The HAE said this enable customer to approach rental businesses “with confidence”.

Following its appearance at next month’s EHS 2022, the HAE is also planning to showcase “the benefits of apprenticeships to employers as part of National Apprenticeship Week (7th to 13th February)”.

Part of its drive to promote rental sector careers, the organisation said, “Despite the ongoing impact on businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, HAE remains committed to attracting people from all age groups, skill sets and backgrounds, to boost the workforce in the tool, plant and equipment hire sector.

“Encouraging more young people into the industry creates a sustainable skills base through vocational training and academic options that will contribute to the UK’s major construction projects of the future,” it added.
