Finland-based spider lift manufacturer Leguan Lifts has expanded into Slovakia with the appointment a new equipment dealer.

The company recently signed a distribution deal with equipment supplier Grolos, which is headquartered in Rokovo Municipality in the north of the country.

Primarily catering to the agricultural and forestry sectors, and already a distributor of mini loaders made by Leguan’s sister company Avant, Grolos, will now offer sales and after sales services for the full range of Leguan spider lifts.

Jori Mylläri, VP of Sales and Marketing for Leguan Lifts, said, “We have heard a lot of good feedback about Grolos from other Leguan distributors in the region and are excited to start the partnership with them.

“All the preparations for the sales start have gone smoothly with their team, and we are expecting them to become a vital part of Leguan sales in this part of Europe in the future.”

Known for producing platforms with tracked chassis that provide high ground clearance and steady driving on difficult terrain, Leguan said that now is the “perfect” time to enter the access equipment market in Slovakia, “which is covered by mountainous terrain”, as spider lifts are not yet in common use in the country.

Radovan Fatul, CEO of Grolos, said, “Leguan spider lifts have state-of-the-art features such as the advanced automatic levelling system and the fastest driving speeds of any spider lifts.

“We think that the market is ready for Leguan, as there are many projects around the country that would benefit from increased efficiency while working in heights.”

The appointment of Grolos comes as the manufacturer seeks to expand its European presence, following a period of significant market growth that it said was driven by a “sizeable” investment in the development of its product range.

Mylläri said, “We have been looking to strengthen our sales network in Europe for a while now, but as we have grown in such a fast phase during the past few years (nearly 70 % sales growth last year) we were forced to postpone most sales expansion plans in new markets.

“After achieving the first steps of production expansion plans, we are ready again to start gradually welcoming new partners to our distributor network.”
