Manitou Benelux celebrates 30 years

Manitou Group is celebrating the 30 year anniversary of its Benelux subsidiary, based in Perwez, Belgium.

The third subsidiary of the group founded in 1991 after the United Kingdom and Italy, provides technical and commercial expertise to Manitou and Gehl dealers based in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

In 1991, Manitou Group established itself in Benelux under the name of Mantrec, a contraction of Manitou & the local distributor Treco, in the city of Namur. In 1996, Manitou Group bought Treco’s shares and changed its name to Manitou Benelux. This was followed by the distribution of aerial platforms and rotating telehandlers. In 2002, the company moved to Perwez, Belgium, with the aim of providing a better service to the entire area.

Manitou Benelux recorded strong growth in sales between 2010 and 2021, says the company, thanks to its network of more than 20 dealers and a boost in demand from rental companies and historic key accounts.
