Palazzani spider for Russian arena

The TSJ 35/C Bi-energy spider features non-marking tracks and a telescopic boom that enables it reach heights of 35m while on ‘delicate flooring’.

Equipment dealer Vertex has supplied a Palazzani bi-energy spider lift for the installation of an ‘interactive roof’ at the new 54,000m² Kuzbass Arena in Kermerovo, Russia.

Featuring a working height of 35m and an outreach of 15m, the TSJ 35/C Bi-energy model is being used by construction workers to fit lights and audiovisual equipment to the interior of the venue’s roof.

The new sports complex, which can accommodate up to 7,500 spectators, is located 3,000km east of Moscow and will host competitions for around 14 different sports. Event images displayed on its hi-tech roof will be “visible from afar and from different parts of the city”.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor application, the TSJ 35/C spider being used on the project is powered by a diesel/electric battery engine and equipped with non-marking crawler tracks.

While choosing any type of equipment for use on “the delicate floor of the arena” requires careful consideration, Palazzani’s dealer Vertex said, “For Vertex, this is hardly the first experience in supplying lifting equipment for sports facilities.

“Palazzani Spider lifts are already successful operated in the Rhythmic Gymnastics Center named Irina Viner-Usmanova in Moscow, in the Baikal ice palace in Irkutsk, at the climbing wall in Krasnoyarsk, in the indoor football arena “Velikaya Perm” and many other facilities.”

According to the manufacturer, which recently supplied Italy-based rental compay Riminigru with a XTJ 43+ spider for 5G telecommunication projects, when construction of the Kuzbass Arena is complete, the TSJ 35/C will be used to maintain the venue.
