FASET has published an information pack for net riggers.

UK organisation, FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training) the trade association and training body for the safety net rigging and fall arrest industry has published a new information pack.

Containing the latest information on safety nets, training and the CSCS safety net rigger card, this new information pack focuses on safety and best practice.

FASET says, "A collective protection system that is increasingly specified on sites both large and small, safety nets are used to save lives and reduce injuries on site by absorbing energy from a falling body. As such they are subject to stringent inspection and maintenance routines.

"The pack highlights the principal criteria for safety nets, explains what standards apply, and describes the benefits of specifying a FASET member. These are companies that undergo a rigorous audit to demonstrate their competence. "

A separate section explains the various training routes available to qualify for the FASET CSCS safety net rigger card.

Tony Seddon, secretary of the association said, "This new pack is a valuable addition to the body of knowledge already available and will provide useful guidance to both existing and prospective users of safety nets."

The pack can be obtained from the FASET website: www.faset.org.uk
