One of AFI Group's new DAF tractor units AFI Group’s new tractor and trailer units from truck manufacturer DAF will double the capcity of its delivery fleet.

UK-based powered access rental company AFI Group has added three new delivery trucks for its Super-Set fleet of large aerial platforms.

The STGO CAT 2 compliant tractor units from manufacturer DAF are part of an ongoing investment plan to development its in-house fleet.

The vehicles from DAF, and their respective trailers, doubles AFI’s delivery capacity for its Super-Set fleet of 20.3m to 58.5m working height MEWPs.

As a result, equipment will be delivered within 48 hours, or 72 hours if the machine requires a 48-hour movement order.

The company has strategically located its delivery units across its depot network, and promises prompt delivery and pick-up for MEWPs located within a 50 mile radius of an AFI depot.

Donna Hall, group services director at AFI, said, “We have expanded the capability of the fleet with these investments to meet increased customer demand for our range of large machines including electric and diesel scissor lifts, diesel articulating boom lifts and diesel straight stick boom lifts. AFI’s entire class 1 delivery vehicle fleet will now transition to being fully Super-Set capable all across the UK.”

In addition to its new DAF vehicles, the company has also placed an order with specialist manufacturer Montracon for 15 CAT 2 compliant trailers.

The trailers are part of a fleet renewal programme that will see the company replace more of its tractor units with CAT 2-compliant models over the next 18 months.
