AFI Group invests in Montracon trailers

15 October 2021

The 15 trailers are part of a dedicated move from AFI Group to boost its MEWP offerings.

Power access specialist AFI Group has invested in 15 CAT 2 HGV trailers to increase the capacity of its MEWP delivery fleet.

The 15 Montracon CAT 2 compliant HGV trailers is part of AFI’s plans to ramp up investment in a rolling programme, which will see the firm provide their own in-house transport fleet.

AFI Group said that it proposes to “take full responsibility and control of every aspect of the delivery process for their powered access fleet throughout their UK depot network to ensure machines are delivered quickly and collected promptly.”

Montracon trailer specifications
The Montracon trailers come with the highest specification and safety features, including fall arrests systems, rear-wheel steer, powered goose neck ramp, deck lights and main ramps that close fully together for ease of loading/unloading.

Nick Higgins, chief operating officer, AFI said, “We have expanded the capability of the fleet with these investments to meet increased customer demand for our range of MEWPs including Electric and Diesel Scissor Lifts, Diesel Articulating Boom Lifts and Diesel Straight Stick Boom Lifts.

“The new trailers will begin to arrive week commencing 13th September and run through until April 2022. By that time, all AFI trailers will be CAT2 compliant meaning the majority of AFI’s depots will be able to transport Super-Set equipment. This will increase service levels and flexibility to our customers across the entire UK.”
