UK rental company, AFI-Uplift is making further investment in powered access machines, to serve both the low-level and high-reach ends of the market.

The company has bought two 32 m (104 ft) Hollandlift Megastar scissor lifts, , and are continuing their investment in smaller machines by purchasing 20 BoSS X3 Youngman machines, with a platform height of 2.55 m (8.3 ft).

AFI managing director Richard Saunders said that AFI was making the investments in response to customer demand at both ends of the working at height spectrum.

The Hollandlift Megastar is a 4-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-steer machine featuring a quick disconnect control box with proportional controls for both driving and lifting, levelling jacks, drive alarm and emergency descent function.

The BoSS X3 is a push around micro powered access platform, which is suitable for a range of tasks including general maintenance, cleaning, painting and fit and strip out work. The BoSS X3 fits through standard doorways and into passenger lifts. It has a stowed height of 1.80 m (6 ft) and a stowed length of 1.23 m (4 ft).

The BoSS X3 and Hollandlift Megastar machines joins an AFI's fleet of over 4300 machines located in 17 depots throughout the UK.
