UK-based Aldercote is introducing a new range of van mounted platforms in October.

UK-based Aldercote has launched a new range of van mounted platforms and appointed APS as its UK distributor, which will also mount the lifts.

The partnership enables APS to expand into the van mount sector, building on the Isoli booms mounted on light chassis that it already represents. It also allows UK-based Aldercote to focus on product design and manufacture, as well as development of export markets for its powered access range.

David Dillon, director of Aldercote, said, “We invested heavily in the design engineering of our new boom lifts. With these new products and the appointment of APS as our UK distributor, we are confident we can once again become a leading supplier to the utility and equipment rental sectors.”

UK-based Aldercote is owned by David and Paul Dillon and the company’s engineering director, Marc Paish. The Dillon family have a strong track record in the vehicle-mounted boom industry, having previously owned Priestman Powered Access.

APS is investing in new workshop facilities and personnel at group headquarters in Telford, Shropshire, where it will fit Aldercote boom kits to vans including the Ford Transit and Iveco Daily. The company’s six field sales personnel will work across the UK to develop the Aldercote brand as a serious alternative to the current market leaders.

Steve Couling, managing director of IAPS Group, which owns APS, added, “These van-mounted booms break new ground in performance and payload on 3.5 tonne GVW vans, thanks to innovative engineering. Additionally, Aldercote’s clever kit design enables us to quickly and efficiently mount these machines.”

APS will formally launch the new range in October 2015 with a demonstrator fleet for its customers and a stock of the most popular van/platform combinations ready for immediate delivery.
