Anglia Access strengthens hire fleet

UK-based rental company Anglia Access Platforms (AAP) has expanded its equipment fleet with the addition of its first Hinowa tracked spider boom.
AAP, which operates an equipment rental fleet comprising 4m to 22m scissor lifts and cherry pickers with working heights of between 10m and 38m, invested in a new Hinowa Lightlift 33.17 Performance IIIS model.
The Lightlift 33.17 is the largest of Hinowa’s spider lift range. It has a maximum working height of 33.5m and a horizontal outreach of 16.5m, and can also work at negative levels - making it suitable for use on port sites and bridges.
AAP’s new Lightlift 33.17 is fitted with 230kg basket capacity of 230kg and its 1.69m width means it can fit through a standard double door.
The bi-energy unit, which is equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor and a Kubota diesel engine, can be powered directly from a mains power connection and used for both indoor and outdoor applications.
This makes it suitable for a range of tasks including those in the building maintenance, construction, solar power and cleaning sectors.
Additionally, it also includes one-button functions for the outrigger setup, platform levelling and the return to stow configuration features.
Mark Allison, Managing Director of Anglia Access, said, “We’ve cross-hired Hinowa spider platforms until now, so it was a natural next step to invest in them. They’re becoming increasingly popular, and essential, for many working at height projects.
“Our new Hinowa 33.17 is an exceptional spider platform and gives us premium rental rates.”
He added, “...I’m confident we’ll do very well with it. It’s ideal for tree management, building inspection, and working on wind turbines and telecoms masts.”
Suitable for operation on rough terrain, upon receiving the machine APP immediately put their new machine to use on a tree removal project.
With the site located adjacent to a main railway line, the high reach of the Lightlift 33.17 allowed “tree surgeons to place the platform on the most appropriate ground, even if it was well away from the tree being worked on.”
