APEX & IRE shows: how to get to Maastricht

By Euan Youdale06 April 2023

APEX and IRE are taking place in Maastricht, the Netherlands, 6-8 June, and there are a range of ways of getting there.

Whether it be air, car, train or bus, travelling to the Maastricht Exhibition & Conference Centre (MECC), the relevant information is laid out at the show and exhibition centre websites.

By air
The show has put on free shuttle buses from nearby city airports Dusseldorf and Brussels Zaventem (not Charleroi).

The buses start early on Monday 5 June - the day before the show - and run until the morning of 9 June, the day after the show. Visit the show website for the full bus timetables, and other travel-related information.

Visitors can also fly to Amsterdam Schiphol airport and then take a train to Maastricht or hire a car. The train journey takes 2.5 hours.

By car
If you are going by car from Amsterdam-Eindhoven then take exit 55 (Randwyck-MECC), or if you are driving from Paris-Liège, take exit 56 (Gronsveld-MECC).

The estimated driving times from some of Europe’s major cities are as follows:

  • Brussels: 1hr, 30 min
  • Paris: 4hr, 30 min
  • Luxembourg: 2hr, 10 min
  • Frankfurt: 3hr, 20 min
  • Cologne: 1hr 15 min
  • Hanover: 4hr, 30 min

By train
Maastricht-Randwyck station is located just 250m from the MECC, and is part of the national and international railway network. There are frequent trains to Maastricht Central Station, which is also linked to the national and international railway network.

For example, Eindhoven Airport is one hour away by train, Amsterdam - 2hrs 30 mins, Brussels Zaventem Airport - 1hr 15 mins, Düsseldorf Airport - 1hr,15 mins, and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport - 3hr, 30 mins.

A bus departs from Maastricht centre or Maastricht Central to MECC Maastricht every five minutes.

There is ample parking at the MECC Maastricht, which is all within a 10 minute walk. For parking information visit the MECC website.
