Switzerland-based rental company Maltech AG has expanded its equipment fleet with two new aerial platforms from Bronto Skylift.

Maltech, which operates across 46 locations and offers a range of self-powered units, scissors and articulating booms, added a Bronto S70XR and an S38XDT.

The equipment handover took place at last week’s Bauma construction industry event in Munich, Germany.

While the S70XR has a working height fo 70m and a transport length of less than 12m, below 12-meter transportation length, is a popular choice for many different worksites.

Maltech’s S70XR platform is mounted on a Scania chassis that features a fifth axle - rather than the standard four axles - and some extra weighting, which gives the machine an increased working envelope of around 6.4m more outreach to the rear.

Meanwhile, the rental company’s Bronto S38XDT incorporates a telescopic cage boom and compact design that is said to make working at heights easier, more efficient and safer.

Mounted on a Volvo FE 320 4x2 chassis, the Bronto S38XDT is also equipped with options as specified by Maltech.

According to manufacturer Bronto, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, these include an extendable working cage with ultrasonic collision guard sensors and a 600kg load capacity. It also features a hydraulically driven generator at the turntable and a reversing colour camera with a display in the vehicle’s cab.

Maltech also added element support feet for the cage that allows them to safely move heavy objects when paired with a cage winch.
