Republic of Ireland-based company Blulift has become the first Irish business in the country to achieve the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Rental+ standard.

Based in County Limerick, the access equipment specialist - which was recently acquired by Briggs Equipment - provides full hire, sales, training and maintenance services across the country.

It was presented with its IPAF Rental+ certification, which ensures rental firms meet “the highest standards” of safety, training, equipment inventory and customer satisfaction, following an audit of its operations.

Gary Clements, Managing Director at Briggs Equipment Group Ireland, said, “It is a proud moment to see Blulift achieve IPAF Rental+.

“To be the first company in Ireland to do so is extra special and demonstrates the team’s commitment to innovation and driving industry standards.

“IPAF Rental+ is a significant achievement, as it highlights the importance we place on safety, employee development, training pathways and excellence in customer service.

“It also delivers assurance that all the requirements for running a modern, safe and efficient access hire company have been met and independently verified.”

Blulift was presented with its certification by IPAF’s new representative for Ireland, Damien O’Connor.

While a few British and Northern Ireland-based company with branches in Ireland have achieved the standard, O’Connor said, “For my part it is an excellent start to my new role at IPAF to be able to meet the guys here at Blulift and to be able to hand over a certificate making the company Ireland’s first IPAF Rental+ member.”

Certification requires rental companies to pass an annual independent audit, and although not requirement of the IPAF Irish Council, it is mandated as a condition of membership by the UK Country Council.
