Dinolift will launch a new 3.5 tonne GVW vehicle mounted diesel-electric hybrid at Platformers’ Days 2021, taking place in Germany this month.

As the latest addition to the Dino lightweight family, the 23m working height 230VTH can be used in pure electric mode for silent working with zero emissions. Furthermore, it is the only hybrid in its size class with a seat for a co-driver in the cab, says the manufacturer.

The model’s 5kWh capacity LiFePo battery enables working indoors and in other emission-restricted areas such as city centres and halls. The battery pack enables all-electric lift operation for one day without the need to recharge. In addition to the environmental benefits, the electric motor significantly improves the operator experience.

According to the manufacturer, the Dino 230VT also has intuitive and simple controls, and an easy-entry basket, with a safe non-slip ladder. It has 15.1m outreach with 100kg in the basket and 11.3m outreach with the maximum 230kg basket capacity.

An important design aspect of the model was to provide all the standard features found in the VT series, along with the addition of the lithium hybrid. “Although the environmental aspects were the key drivers behind the design, the flexible and versatile use of the machine has not been compromised,” added Dinolift.

The model’s 3,500kg gross vehicle weight can include two people, a 90% full fuel tank and full AdBlue tank for longer journeys.

The diesel engine remains an option when the battery is low or when the working environment is suitable. standard 1kW inverter can charge the high voltage battery while the diesel engine is running.

The entire Dino VT series is built for rental use in varying conditions and temperatures. Special attention has been given to preventing breakdown and maximising uptime, while the range’s tough construction is designed for heavy use, with all components being well protected.

The Dino 230VTH is being showcased at Platformers’ Days alongside the lightweight 4x4 Dino 280RXT, the Dino 160XT II trailer and the all-rounder Dino 220XTC II spider.
