Duetz partners with Manitou in agriculture

Manitou will install Deutz engines in all its 6 to 7 m telehandlers for agricultural use.
Starting in January 2014, Manitou will equip its 6 to 7 metre-series, which features a multi-function grab bucket, with the Deutz 3.6 engine, which has been developed specifically for use in agricultural equipment.
The water-cooled 4-cylinder series engine, with a capacity range of 55.4 to 90 kW at 2,300 rpm, will reduce installation costs for customers said Manitou. TCD 3.6 series engines are equipped with the EGR modular exhaust gas after-treatment system that can be attached to the engine as an option, which simplifies the integration of the device.
“Thus, Deutz allows for a drop-in installation of the entire system,” added a spokesman. "The TCD 3.6 comes with a charge air cooler and only an oxidation catalyst to meet the requirements of EU 3B and US EPA Tier 4 interim emission categories.”
