The IPAF West Midlands, UK, regional meeting will be held on 9 May.

The meeting will be hosted by Matt Skipworth, Terex AWP service solutions manager, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia, who will welcome delegates and speak on the impact of maintenance on safety.

His presentation will emphasise the importance of a robust maintenance regime and adherence to OEM guidelines, and highlight good and bad practice and the consequences when critical safety equipment is not maintained to the necessary standard.

Jacques Valckenaere, Trackunit, will speak on “Telematics: Is your business intelligent?” He will provide a demonstration of technology that is available in the marketplace and how this has and is being integrated with OEM equipment.

He will also emphasise how this equipment is much more than an 'anti-theft' device, highlighting how fleet visibility, remote monitoring and a business intelligence tool can bring significant benefits and increase both safety standards and revenue.

Other speakers include Brian Parker, health & safety manager, AFI-Uplift, who will provide an overview of human errors that can cause accidents when using MEWPs and how these can be avoided, and Giles Councell, IPAF director of operations, who will discuss the newly formed IPAF UK Country Council and how members can get more involved to support the work of their Federation.

The meeting takes place at 18:00 at The Belfry, Wishaw, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B76 9PR. Register in advance at www.ipaf.org/en/services/regional-meetings
