Haulotte was able to announce at UK exhibition, SED, that it has sold its first H28 TJ+ in the UK. Although unwilling to name names just yet, Access International can reveal that the customer is a rental company located in Scotland.

The H28 TJ+ was officially launched at ConExpo, Las Vegas, in March - in North America it is called the HB86 TJ+. The machine offers a maximum platform height of 26.2m but an important feature is the 6m fly jib which allows the machine to provide access to sites which would not be possible with a traditional telescopic boom. Examples of this are: where the job site is recessed; where an "up and over" movement is needed to bypass an obstacle or even under bridge type structures. The wider working envelope provided by the jib can also remove the need to constantly adjust the main boom.

The 2.44 m (8ft) platform can lift up to 350 kg (772 lb) on the rigid three section boom. The machine's oscillating axel is designed to cope with rough terrain and the differential lock gives good grip in mud, sand or snow.

The H28 TJ+ has been designed with a narrow chassis and the rear overhang has been minimised which means the boom can be used on sites with limited space.

Haulotte has developed the machine, not only to fill a size gap between 25 and 32m, but to provide rental companies and end users with a flexible tool. Its major market is expected to be construction but the company also see potential users where maintenance, renovation and a range of other work needs to be carried out in high difficult to access areas.
