Haulottes bound for Hinkley Point C

Bylore JV orders 80-strong fleet of Haulotte’s electric platforms for work at nuclear plant in UK

Bylor, a joint venture company made up of Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke, has ordered 83 Haulotte access platforms for the construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear plant in the UK.

Natalie Reynolds, general manager at Haulotte UK, said, “The Haulotte UK team are very proud to participate in this extraordinary project. This order reflects Haulotte‘s expertise and the ability of our equipment to work in demanding and high-risk worksites.”

The bumper order is comprised of 23 of Haulotte’s Compact 8 and Optimum 8 electric scissors lifts and seven HA16 RTJ PRO and six HA12 CJ electric articulating boom models.

Bylor also ordered 22 of the manufacturer’s Star 6 AC and 16 Star 10 verticle mast lifts. The models are both suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and have working heights of 5.6m and 10m, respectively.

The new machines will be used to carry out the main civil engineering and construction works at Hinkley Point C, which is located on the Somerset Coast of England and will power around 6 million homes.

According to Haulotte, this is the second order of its equipment by Bylor for the nuclear project. The first order for 22 machines, was made in July 2019.
