The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is encouraging anyone who manages aerial work platforms (AWPs) on jobsites to attend its annual US Convention, Oct. 22-23 Celebration, FL.

The convention will take place at the Bohemian Hotel Celebration located near the Ritchie Bros. equipment auction and the National Safety Council (NSC) Congress & Expo taking place that same week.

At the IPAF US Convention, Brian Wimer from NIOSH will introduce a new joint venture project with IPAF and Motorola to develop applications with the use of smart phone technology to provide safe use information to users of booms and scissor lifts.

Mike Disser from NES Rentals will discuss the cost of ownership and provide some insights to consider when buying equipment. Ebbe Christensen, president and CEO of ReachMaster, will examine compact machines, also known as atrium lifts, as a growing market segment.

Lindsey Anderson, editor of Access, Lift & Handlers, will present a talk about the difference training can make from the ground up.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about responsibilities when managing AWPs. See the full program below and book your place now for the IPAF US Convention at www.ipaf.org/usconvention.

Also, an AWPs for Managers training course will be held immediately after the Convention on the afternoon of October 23. Course and registration details are at www.awpt.org/a4m.
