German demolition company finds JCB telehandler a useful and versatile tool.

Prümer, a German demolition contractor is finding a JCB 540-170 Loadall telehandler with a man-basket a useful part of its fleet in the dismantling of a former car show room

Company manager Peter Prümer said, "The versatility of the JCB makes it extremely economical. The work platform, pallet forks and bucket means the telescopic handler is high performing all-rounder."

The Opal showroom, workshops and office building are being demolished to make way for a Lidl supermarket. The large area of the aerial platform (2.5 m extendable to 4 m) has made it possible for Prümer to carry out preparation work such as tree cutting, dismantling asbestos sheets and removing recyclable windows.

The company has found the manoeuvrability of the 540-170 particularly useful in narrow demolition sites: the driver can choose between four-wheel, front-wheel and crab steering and the turning circle is just 4.1 m. Driver, Siefried Liehr said, "The machine offers excellent visibility and is easy to operate."
