JLG to manage Spain direct

JLG has announced a change to its distribution in Spain: from 1 February JLG Iberica, located in Barcelona, will supply the Spanish market directly with access equipment, telehandlers, parts, financing, training and service.
JLG products have been sold and serviced in Spain but this is a new strategic direction for the company to manage its distribution locally and direct.
Wayne Lawson, JLG vice president and managing director EAME said, "The Spanish market is going through an extremely difficult period which prompted us to review our position. The current distribution model is no longer sustainable therefore JLG decided that a single channel to market would be an appropriate solution. Managing the distribution in Spain directly enables us to maintain the values which are important to JLG. Customer satisfaction and fulfilling the specific needs of the Spanish market in the best way possible are key."
Richard Puglia, newly appointed as JLG Iberica managing director said, "The JLG Iberica organisation started in 2000, and since then significant attention has been paid to developing the service and support packages our customers require for their day-to-day business. Additionally we managed the major Spanish accounts. Over the years, JLG Iberica has established itself as a trustworthy partner, which carries service and commitment as its hallmark. In these challenging times we want to expand our activities throughout the entire country, supplying local resellers and rental companies with our product and ensuring they are offered the best aftermarket service packages available."
Prior to joining JLG, Mr Puglia pursued an international career in energy, software and capital equipment industries across the globe. Born and raised in New York City, he emigrated to Spain in 1996 when he met his wife. He has been a resident of Spain since 1996, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a certified Six Sigma green belt.
