Loxam updates ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations

27 January 2013

Loxam has updated its ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications covering its entire European network.

The firm first received its ISO 9001 quality management accreditation in 1997, followed by the ISO 14001 environmental standard in 2010. The renewal of its certification followed an audit on 5-21 December by SGS, which covered a representative sample of 35 sites in five countries.

The ISO renewals mean that all new branches and subsidiaries acquired by the group in recent years are now covered by the accreditation. This extends to the goods recycling depot in Alençon, which processes 1400 tonnes of recycled waste per year from all over France.

Branches acquired from Stammis in the Netherlands, Locamachine in Belgium and the entire Locarest network acquired in 2011 have also achieved these two certifications.

The Loxam branch in Casablanca, Morocco, which opened in 2011, also achieved ISO 9001 certification at its first audit, with ISO 14001 certification to follow at a later date.

Loxam said it was the first European equipment rental company to be awarded ISO 14001 certification in February 2010.
