Major UK order for JLG

UK-based A-Plant has invested more than UK£6 million (US$9.3 million) in almost 300 new aerial work platforms from JLG.

The new machines are currently being delivered throughout the A-Plant Service Centre network. The order includes diesel articulated booms from 34 ft to 80ft, diesel telescopic booms from 45 ft to 85 ft, electric booms from 34 ft to 45 ft and electric scissors from 12 ft to 40 ft. This latest investment with JLG confirms A-Plant’s access fleet as one of the newest and most environmentally-efficient anywhere in the UK.

All the new diesel JLG models are fitted with Stage IIIB/Tier 4 compliant engines and the electric models offer double the battery life of hydraulic drive machines and zero emissions.

A-Plant’s Regional Managing Director Paul Dennis said: “More and more of our customers require environmentally friendly and Stage IIIB/Tier 4 compliant equipment to meet green building requirements, so this has been a key consideration in the selection of equipment. The new range also includes equipment with longer run times, zero emissions and less dependency on hydraulic oils.”

The latest additions to the fleet include the Toucan 12E Plus, a 34 ft electric mast lift which is designed for narrow operating spaces. The vertical and horizontal reachallow machines to operate around and over obstacles in restricted indoor and outdoor spaces. It has a 345 degree rotating mast.
