Mieve launches 25m scissor at Smopyc
05 April 2011
Spanish scissor manufacturer Mieve SL launched a 25 m working height scissor lift at the Smopyc exhibition in Zaragoza. It is the largest scissor the company has ever made, expanding the range beyond its existing 21 m working height model.
Mr Evelio Garcia Garrido, managing director of Palencia-based Mieve, told Access International that although the Spanish aerial platform rental market remained very difficult, there was some demand for special machines such as the PE-25.
He said the machine would also be priced at around 30% less than competitor models, costing around €100000.
The scissor, which weighs 16.4 t, measures 5.83 m long, 3.35 m high and 2.48 m wide, and the platform length is 5.5 m, with an additional single deck extension of 1.5 m. Power comes from a Lombardini diesel engine and it is a four wheel drive and four wheel steer model, with one oscillating axle. Automatic levelling of the four outriggers is a standard feature.
Mr Garrido told AI that the company had survived the recession by developing specialist machines, including a scissor lift designed for use on railway maintenance cars and industrial material handling equipment, including a pallet handling unit also shown at Smopyc.
