UK-based Nationwide Platforms in the UK has invested in 20 low-level access platforms from Bravi, equipped with the manufacturer’s Solo-Gyps drywall attachment.

The rental company’s new 4.9m Leonardo HD platforms are said to be the first in the country fitted with the Solo-Gyps attachment. The attachment, which is designed specifically for use with the Bravi model, enables a single operator to lift drywall panels into position without assistance.

According to the manufacturer, using Solo-Gyps helps to reduce manual handling and saves time when undertaking fit-out work by freeing up project workers to carry out other tasks.

Pierino Bravi, managing director of Bravi Platforms, said, “Due to social distancing measures, many contractors are no longer allowing two people on the same platform, so vertical platforms that are compact and manoeuvrable enough to allow more units on the same job are the right solution to the current challenges, letting each operator work on his own.”

The self-propelled Bravi Leonardo HD 4.9m platforms are powered by high-cycle batteries that offer up to 250 ascent and descent cycles – or 12km of travel.

With a safe working load of 180kg, the electric model’s control panel features a large LCD display shows the status of the vehicle, the operating time of the system and includes a charging indicator that shows the battery’s power level.

Suitable for mechanical and electrical applications, Nationwide said its new ultra-compact machines have also been equipped with additional safety and storage features.

Paul Rankin, Nationwide Platforms COO, said, “Our investment in the Leonardo HD with Solo-Gyps from Bravi reinforces our commitment to continuing to provide the best, the safest and most modern equipment to our customers.

“Nationwide Platforms is the only provider in the UK to be offering the Leonardo HD with Solo-Gyps attachment, and we can provide expert advice to our customers on how to get the best out of the equipment.”
