New CPA chief resigns from the association

The UK’s Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has accepted the resignation of its chief executive Stu McInroy just seven months after he joined the organisation.

McInroy joined as chief executive in June 2023 and his resignation will come into effect on 8 March 2024. He succeeded previous long-time chief Kevin Minton following Minton’s retirement.

No reason was given for the resignation by CPA.

CPA President Brian Jones said: “On behalf of the CPA Council and the CPA team, we would like to thank Stu for his service to the CPA and wish him well in his future endeavours.

“The CPA has a great team of professional and dedicated staff and our primary focus is to continue to provide first-class support to CPA members and to continue to put construction plant-hire at the forefront of policy makers’ minds.”

CPA said further news about the position of CPA chief executive would be announced in due course.

Before joining CPA, McInroy had a 12-year career managing trade associations and prior to that spent 21 years in the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF), rising to the position of Wing Commander.
