Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) has launched a new work platform that is designed for fork lift trucks.

The BT Reflex R-series MEWP comes with transitional lift control and AC motors. Used in conjunction with a fork lift, the platform can be used for high-level maintenance work and inventory checking, said the company.

It comes in two models, the BT RRE160 and BT RRE200, and can be driven directly from the basket, and replaces the need for scissor lifts, added TNHE.

The models can work at heights of up to 10 m, and includes an E-bar mounting for ancillary equipment, together with a power supply.

Additional features include an anti-slip floor and high safety rails, as well as emergency lowering and evacuation facilities. The speed is also limited to 2km/h when driving from the platform.

"This solution reduces material handling costs eliminating the need for two-man crew operations," said Therese Précenth, TMHE product manager, "The platform can easily be removed, according to the customers’ specific requirements, enabling the truck to operate as a standard BT Reflex R-series reach truck."
