OP Pagliero wins two 85 m orders

01 May 2008

Two unnamed Italian rental companies have ordered 85.6 m working height truck-mounted platforms from OP Pagliero.

The J3 385 TA machines-which will dwarf Pagliero's previous biggest 72 m platform-will be mounted on a 15.0 m long, 5- or 6-axle commercial truck chassis and have a total transport weight of around 55-56 t. Transport height will be 4.05 m and width 2.55 m. The first platform will be delivered early in 2006 and the second will follow two or three months later.

The platform will comprise three telescopic sections, with a 42 m long, four-section main boom; a 22 m, three-section second boom; and a 16 m long, two-section third boom. All three booms will be able to extend and move at the same time, the company told AI.

A key feature of the machine, said Jerry Kist, Pagliero's Germany and Benelux sales manager, will be rotating connections between the three booms which will give it an 'up, over and down' capability (42 m up, 22 m over, 8 m down). Maximum outreach will be 41.5 m with 165 kg cage capacity; 40 m with 250 kg and 35 m with 500 kg.

One of the machines may be ready for the SAIE exhibition in Bologna in October.
