Forty Power Towers, from rental company Nationwide Access were used to redevelop the Saint Pancras Station in the UK.

The Power Tower sigma boom lift was developed by Leicestershire-based CTE UK in cooperation with the access rental specialist Lavenden Group and launched at the beginning of last year.

Brian King of CTE UK says that the machine is designed for low level access, β€œIt puts you on the fi rst rung of the powered access ladder and offers much more rigidity than you would expect from most push arounds.”

The special relationship with Lavenden has, until now, precluded the Power Tower from being sold to other rental companies – by the end of April this year Lavenden companies will have some 300 machines in their fl eets – but CTE UK has just started to sell to other rental companies.

When AI saw CTE UK at the UK Executive Hire Show at the beginning of February, plans for the future of the Power Tower were well underway. The Power Tower website (www.powertowers.co.uk) had just gone live and CTE UK was in talks with potential partners to sell the machine in Europe and the US.
