Rakentajain's Polish move

01 May 2008

Vesa Koivula, president and chief executive officer of RK, told Access International that RK would invest in the business, expanding the fleet and opening new depots. A doubling of the fleet is possible by next year, and RK plans to open a second depot in the Warsaw area probably this year.

“Poland is interesting for us, and many other rental companies”, said Mr Koivula, “It is a new member of the European Union, and that gives a good basis for growth.” He said he was confident that the construction sector would continue to grow.

Mr Koivula said RK had chosen an access renter to enter the Polish market because he believed that a specialist rental company offered a good opportunity to operate profitably from the start. He said that RK remained interested in entering Poland's general rental market in the longer term.

SAVE was established in 1994. RK is acquiring the business from its two owners, one of whom, Mr Bogdan Lenda, will remain in the business as managing director.
