BlueLift and RAM have launched a truck-mounted access platform, representing the first in a range of new products.

The two Italian manufacturers joined forces earlier this year after truck-mounted platform producer RAM was forced to close as a result of the financial crises.

Gianni Marti, commercial director at tracked platform crane manufacturer BlueLift, said the two companies would benefit from each other's products and share the same dealers in Italy. They would not, however, share the same dealers in all export markets, Marti added.

The RAM Gemini 20.35 PTJ is the first truck mount to be launched by the partnership and was presented at the SAIE 2011, exhibition in Bologna, Italy for the first time. It has a working height of 20.35 m and maximum outreach of 11 m. The front outriggers are extendable to 400 mm, while the rear outriggers remain within the machine width.

Marti added that BlueLift produces about 100 machines a year, and hoped to manufacture the same number of RAM units within two years. Exports of RAM machines will begin in 2012.
