Ramirent to expand Swedish operations
01 May 2008
Mikael Oberg, president and chief executive officer of Ramirent's Swedish business, said the company now intended to invest heavily in access equipment, with plans to develop a fleet of up to 3000 or 4000 units, allowing it to compete with the massive Cramo access fleet in Sweden.
Mr Oberg told AI that Ramirent had the choice of continuing to develop Stavdal under the shared ownership, or sell the daughter company to its current managers ituation and to go for the business ourselves and not part-owned.”
The initial plan will be to boost Ramirent's current Swedish fleet of 200 units to 700 before the end of 2005, but with a strategy to bring the fleet up to between 3000 and 4000 machines within five years.
