Ruthmann shows machines for today, tomorrow and the day after

German truck mount specialist, Ruthmann was able to show the new Steiger T275 variable turret machine alongside the SteigerTB220, mounted for the first time on a 3.5 t Renault-Maxity chassis, and the Steiger T 580 with its orbital boom technology. In addition the company was previewing the Steiger T 470 in 3D animation; this machine will be being built from the end of this year and are expected to be available by Spring 2009.
The Steiger T275‘s variable turret construction means that when the boom is closed it adopts a small footprint, shortening the length of the vehicle on which it can be carried to 7.85 m. The T275 has a 27.3 m working height and a maximum outreach of 21 m and since the vehicle's wheel base is just 3.6 m it can manoeuvre in quite narrow streets.
The new jib provides a greater up and over range and the T275 has a new boom construction for a smoother movement.
The Steiger T 470 should be on show at next year's Intermat exhibition in Paris, France and it will supercede the T 450 model. T470 provides 3600 rotation, a 47 m working height and a 32 m outreach on a 10.5 m vehicle which, says Ruthmann, is very compact for such a working envelope.
The boom has a rounded profile for smooth movement and the jib gives access where obstacles are encountered. Ruthmann said it had already received advance orders for the machine.
