Ruthmann has received one of its largest single orders from German rental company Gerken, worth more than €4 million.

Gerken ordered a number of 22 m working height Steiger TBR 220’s and 27 m Steiger TB 270 models, mounted on 3.5 tonne chassis.

Gerken has also ordered several 33 m working height Steiger T 330 models, on a 7.49 tonne chassis, said the manufacturer. In addition Ruthmann jas ordered models across the company’s Height Performance series, on 18 tonne, 26 tonne and 33 tonne chassis, with working heights of 38 m to 63 m.

According to Ruthmann, Gerken is the world’s largest provider of large work platforms over 60 m. In 2012 and 2013 Gerken ordered models in this category, including Height Performance T 460, T 540, and T 720’s.

Established more than 50 years ago Gerken has a network of rental bases in Germany, Holland and Spain, and has more than 4,200 machines in its fleet.

Uwe Strotmann, Ruthmann sales director, said, "This is one of the largest single orders that we have ever recorded in our company's history. We are proud and very happy that our efforts in product innovation in all work platform segments have paid off so handsomely.

"When developing a new product, it is absolutely essential to focus on the needs of the customer at all times. Ruthmann certainly continue to apply this successful, time-tested concept throughout 2014.”
