Sany’s new telehandler at The ARA Show 2020.

China-based construction manufacturer Sany has debuted a 10,000-pound telehandler. The STH1056A is the company’s debut into the telehandler market, and the unit was shown for the first time at The ARA Show 2020 in Orlando.

The STH1056A has a maximum lift capacity of 10,000 pounds and maximum lift height of 56 feet, 2 inches. Lift capacity at maximum height is 5,000 pounds while at maximum reach is 3,000 pounds.

“We are coming in aggressively,” said Ben Miller, Sany America’s director of sales – earthmoving, when asked about entering the North American telehandler market.

The company will expand its telehandler line and introduce a 12,000-pound unit this year, as well.

“We are taking a different approach,” Miller said. “Everything on the machine is how it comes standard.”

Standard features include: a wide-angle rear camera, axle-mounted stabilizers, a large cab and a side-mounted engine. Power is provided by a 130 hp Cummins engine and the transmission is a Dana VDT12000.

“We want to provide a value-based product,” Miller said. “At a good price point.”

The units are currently being manufactured at Sany’s facility in China, but production will move to Peachtree, GA at the end of the year.

Visitors can see the new telehandlers at ConExpo 2020.
