Steve Shaughnessy, who left Skyjack last month after less than a year as president, told Access International that he wants to remain in the industry but will not rush into making any decisions.

Mr Shaughnessy is currently in the process of moving back to the UK, where he has a home, and will continue to undertake his duties as president of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).

"I certainly intend to stay in the industry, whether manufacturing, rental or distribution", he told AI, "Rental and distribution are what I know best." He said he would target jobs in renting, selling or manufacturing products that lift people or materials.

Mr Shaughnessy's departure from Skyjack was a surprise, and he would not comment on the circumstances of his leaving. However, he did say that he continued to have "a very high regard for Skyjack, its people and products."

On his return to the UK Mr Shaughnessy will work towards creating a successful IPAF Summit and IAPA (International Awards for Powered Access) awards event. He is serving as one of the judges for the awards.
