Shortlists announced for European Rental Awards

The judging panel for the European Rental Awards met in Brussels on 3 March and chose the shortlisted companies for the 2016 awards. The winners will be announced at the awards dinner in Stockholm on 8 June during the European Rental Association’s annual convention.

The awards, which are jointly organised by International Rental News magazine and the European Rental Association (ERA), comprise six categories, including a new award for Sustainable Business Innovation in Rental.

The shortlists are:

Large Rental Company of the year (> €15 million)

• Riwal (Netherlands)

Small Rental Company of the year (<€15 million)

• Crestchic Ltd (UK)
• Drial Poland (Poland)
• Echo Barrier (UK)

Sustainable Business Innovation in Rental

• HSS Hire (UK)
• Hewden (UK)
• Kiloutou (France)
• Loxam (France)

Rental Product of the Year

• EL & Site - MBerg LED-light
• Genie - Z-33/18
• HH-Intelitech - GlasLift 550 Terrain
• Holland Lift - HL-330 E14
• Kaeser - M82
• Wacker Neuson - WL20e

Rental Person of the Year

• Will be announced in Stockholm at the awards dinner.

Lifetime Achievement Award

• Will be announced in Stockholm at the awards dinner.

Fifty-seven entries were received in total for the awards, including eight for the new sustainability category and 32 alone for the rental product of the year award.

The judges said; “The awards dinner takes place during the ERA’s 10^th convention in June, which is an important milestone for the association, so we were delighted with the number and quality of the entries. The shortlists are of high quality and the winners are tremendous.

“The entries for the product of the year award demonstrated that equipment suppliers take very seriously the needs of the rental industry. That focus has increased noticeably over the past 10 years.

“The rental company categories also show that today’s rental players are completely alive to the wider trends in the business environment, with sustainability being given real attention, alongside innovations to help customers and drive more rental activity."

All shortlisted companies will receive two free tickets for the awards dinner, which takes place on 8 June at the Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm, during the ERA annual convention.
