Speedy selects Russons own brand platforms

05 July 2011

UK access distributor Russon Access has sold 50 of its own designed low-level access platforms to rental specialist Speedy.

The push around Power Scissor is available in 2m, 3m and 5M working heights and is powered either manually or via a cordless drill. Alan Russon, the company's managing director said, "It is a unique design with no batteries, no charger,no electronics of hydraulics. It actuates using a turning handle and a lead screw, helped by gas struts."

Because the Power Scissor and the complementary 4m working height Power Step have no conventional power source they are said to be suitable for hazardous enviroments, clean rooms and can be operated inside and outside with a zero carbon footprint.

Mr Russon said that the platforms are virtually maintenance free and because they require no battery are available 24 hours a day seven days a week.

The low-level platforms have been available for two years and although, according to Mr Russon, demonstrations have met with a very favourable response, Speedy's is the first significant order.

"Feedback from Speedy is very positive, " said Mr Russon. "There is a strong possibility the company may consider buying more."
