AT&E Ltd (Allied Trading & Engineering), UpRight's Sri Lankan distributor has recently delivered a new X33RT compact rough terrain scissor to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

The Ports Authority is using the machine for a wide range of applications, from site inspections to maintenance.

Rajah Abeyasinghe, chief executive officer of AT&E Ltd, said, "This is a very prestigious contract for us. We continue to work extremely hard to promote UpRight products in Sri Lanka. A large part of our work is educating end users on the efficiency and safety benefits that aerial lifts can bring to their daily operations. Having an UpRight scissor lift in such a highly visible location is a great mobile billboard for us and the customer feedback from the port authority is very positive."

The Ports Authority, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009, administers all commercial ports in Sri Lanka, including the main port of Colombo and the regional ports of Galle, Trincomalee, Kankasanturai, Point Pedru and the new port at Hambantota.

The UpRight X33RT delivers a working height of up to 12m, yet is only 1.8m and has a platform capacity of 450kg. Standard features include a 1.2m roll-out deck extension, stabilisers and 4-wheel drive.
