Technicians can look to web for Genie service training

17 November 2008

Terex AWP has introduced a free online service program for mechanics to learn more about troubleshooting and repair on Genie machines. The course begins with a 12-lesson electrical theory program, after which the technician can opt to take a quiz to review the studies. After completion of the exam, participants who score more than 80 percent correct will receive a printable certificate of training.

Terex AWP plans to introduce another course in the future, titled, the company says, as "hydraulic theory" followed by product courses. All online service training will be free of charge to Terex AWP dealer technicians.

"Our online service training program is a new avenue to reach our dealers and provide essential, valuable training opportunities 24/7, anywhere there is an Internet connection," said Steve Gooding, director of national accounts support and factory training, Terex AWP.

Interested technicians must have a computer and access to the Internet in order to participate.
