Volvo Rents buys more US rental stores

22 November 2011

Volvo Rents has completed two recent acquisitions in the US as part of its strategy to create company-owned network as well as its franchise operation.

The latest acquisitions are SCS Equipment, a Texas rental business with stores in Wichita Falls and Dallas, and Papé Rents, a single location business in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mike Price, who founded SCS Equipment in 1986, will enter into a sales/consulting role with Volvo Rents, and Don Myrick, who was general manager of Papé Rents, joins Volvo Rents in Phoenix.

Volvo Rents has made seven acquisitions alone since July as it builds its company owned network.

In addition to buying rental companies, Volvo Rents has been strengthening its management team. In August it opened a Central Region office in The Woodlands, Texas, to be run by vice president Bruce Slaughter, a 27-year veteran of the rental industry who joined Volvo Rents in 2006.

In the same month it established an Eastern Region office in New Jersey. It will be run by Russ Parisi, a Volvo Rents employee since 2003, who will serve as Eastern Region vice president and oversee the eastern US as well as the eastern provinces of Canada.
