Warren Access hits milestone anniversary

The head of the UK-based rental firm Warren Access has paid tribute to the company’s founder, as the business marks its 30th year in operation.

In a statement marking the company’s landmark birthday, Managing Director Graeme Warren, said, “Being the same age now as my Dad was when we started Warren Access, I am so proud of everything he has achieved and the commitment it took from him to make this happen.

“It’s true to say that Warren Access would not be the business that it is today, had it not been for him, his approach to business and his love of people and customers. Thank you, Dad, for everything you have done.”

Warren Access was founded by Derek Warren in 1993 after he was made redundant from another plant rental firm - one that he had devoted 28 years of service.

“Turning the setback of redundancy in 1993 into an opportunity, Derek decided to strike out on his own,” said the company. “With the backing of his family, he founded Warren Access with his son Graeme, with the aim of providing safe working at height solutions for businesses and communities in the North East.”

Three decades on and now led by his son Graeme, Warren Access serves customers - including the NHS, English Heritage and contractor Taylor Wimpey - across the North East of England, and operates IPAF and PASMA approved training centres.

Although Derek Warren has now retired from the family-run company, he “continues to support it from the side-lines” as his son carries the firm into its next decade of business.

In addition to paying tribute to his father, Graeme Warren also celebrated the company’s 30th anniversary with a fleet expansion. Warren Access recently invested in two Ecoline RS 200 truck mounts from manufacturer Ruthmann and one each of the KL26 lift and K38P telescopic van mount models from CPL.

All four of the platforms are mounted on 3.5-tonne chassis, with Warren Access’s Ruthmann aerial platforms offering a 20m working height and its CPL KL26 lift and K38P telescopic providing working heights of 11.8m and 13.8m respectively.

Director Michelle Warren, Director at Warren Access, said, ‘The next year is so exciting, our new vehicles will let us do even more with new customers and those that have been with us on our journey so far.”
