Zeppelin Rental completes Luther integration

02 August 2021

German rental group Zeppelin has completed the integration of the Luther Group, consisting of Luther HL and Meton, into its rental strategic business unit.

The completion of the acquisition of Luther HL broadens Zeppelin Group’s traffic safety offering.

The acquisition, initiated in 2019, entails the inclusion and rebranding of Luther HL services under the Zeppelin Rental banner.

These services include planning and execution services in traffic safety and traffic telematics as well as rental protection walls from Meton.

As part of the acquisition, Zeppelin will transfer 100 employees to its rental strategic business unit, which the company says will strengthen its expertise in traffic guidance and transport technology.

Peter Schrader, Managing Director and COO of Zeppelin Rental said, “By bundling our services, we have now created important operational synergies, established the organisational structures for joint market cultivation and further strengthened our market position.

“I look forward to working together to drive forward the further successful development and to decisively shape the future of mobile traffic safety and control with innovative traffic telematics solutions.”

The development, production and sale of Luther HL and Meton traffic technology will be taken over by Meton GmbH, which will remain a separate company and 100% subsidiary of Zeppelin Rental GmbH.

Meton has plans to add to its product range with mobile safety devices, installation systems, installation devices, special products, and storage and transport racks.

It products include protective wall elements with built-in electronically controlled chassis (Meton Quick-Switch) and emergency openings (Meton rolling port).

Zeppelin has also completed the integration of power and climate control specialist Energyst Germany into its Rental Strategic Business Unit.

The intergration was also completed on 1 August, following the acquisition at the beginning of the year.

Zeppelin Group Manager Christoph Afheldt.

Zeppelin Rental is a registered energy supply company. Power generation and air conditioning technology in small and medium-sized power classes are a significant part of its rental program.

Manager Christoph Afheldt said the acquisition would expand Zeppelin’s expertise “to offer our customers the best possible solutions for their individual challenges, as well as the efficient and safe handling of their projects in the field of power generation and air conditioning technology.”

The offering will include ready-to-use energy and climate packages including technical planning, installation, maintenance and servicing.

Four locations in Duisburg, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Leipzig will add to Zeppelin Rental’s existing nationwide power generation and air conditioning technology network.
