Zoomlion unveils first electric RT articulating boom

Zoomlion Access's electric ZA16JERT articulated boom

Zoomlion Access has introduced its first rough terrain electric articulating boom lift.

Powered by a lithium battery-powered AC electric drive, the new ZA16JERT provides both zero emissions and low noise operation for work in urban environments.

The boom model is equipped with a 250kg (550lb) capacity platform, has a working height of 17.8m (58ft 5in) and, with a horizontal outreach of 9.72m (31ft 11in), is said to provide an “excellent up-and-over capacity of 8m (26ft 3in)”.

In addition, the ZA16JERT also includes four-wheel-drive and offers up to 24° gradeability and 360° non-continuous swing.

According to China-based manufacturer, the model’s combined features combine enable operators to access hard-to-reach areas with “extreme flexibility”.

Jason Liu, Global Sales and Marketing Director at Zoomlion Access, said, “Following the market trend of urbanization and carbon neutrality, this brand-new ZA16JERT is targeted at providing exceptional off-road performance and quiet working conditions around jobsites, especially in urban areas where stringent environment regulations must be meet.”

The ZA16JERT is one of several new aerial platform models to be recently introduced by the company, as it seeks to capitalise on its growth in the Chinese access equipment market by establishing a stronger footing in Europe and the US.

In November 2021, Zoomlion Access introduced its first all electric telescopic boom lifts - the ZT22JE and ZT26JE - into the global market, and prior to that, its partnership with Dutch rental company Bac Hoogwerkers saw the introduction of the Zoomlion MEWPs range in the Nertherlands.
